The Official Handing Over Ceremony and Welcoming of the New Chairman was held on 15 January 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall, SUDC. The event was attended and witnessed by the Board of Directors, CEO, management, staff, and distinguished guests.

The ceremony marked the transition of leadership from YB Datuk Haji Jamawi Ja’afar to YB Datuk Haji Pg. Saifuddin Pg. Tahir Petra. It was not merely a welcome, but a welcome back to SUDC, as he had previously served the corporation with distinction as Managing Director of SUDC and Group General Manager (GGM) of SEDCO, prior to retiring and embarking on a career in public service and politics.

CEO Datuk Afizal Aldin, on behalf of SUDCians, expressed his deepest appreciation to YB Datuk Haji Jamawi Ja’afar for his leadership, dedication, and invaluable contributions during his five-year tenure as Chairman of SUDC. He also extended heartiest congratulations on his appointment as Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry of Sabah, and wished him continued success in his new role.
