Milek Perkasa was entrusted with the task of developing properties with special reference to the Bumiputera Community. This role witnessed Milek Perkasa successfully building and selling commercial shop lot to Bumiputera entrepreneurs throughout the State. In major towns, satellite commercial centers were developed. Rural towns were also not neglected as affordable retail outlets commonly known as SEDCO shop houses were built.
Milek Perkasa went on to develop shop housesin Labuan , Inanam , Ranau and Sandakan within first three years of operation . All those developments transformed the lives of many by creating economicand business opportunities for entrepreneurs and the folks living in those areas.
Subsequently from 1976 to 1980, Milek perkasa extended its “transformation” programme by including smaller towns as part of the Government’s urbanization programme. This begin Milek Perkasa’s foray into various parts of Sabah and made its presence felt in the remotest parts of Sabah. As more development project took off, so too were the company’s development role for the State.
To reflect the company’s expanded role , Milek Perkasa’s name was changed to Sabah Urban Development Corporation Sdn Bhd. on 25 August 1984.
